Two by two

Two blocks a week for the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt. I got my blocks done early this week.

Block 9 – Box

Block 10 – Bowtie

Last week’s blocks:

Block 7 – Birds in the Air

Block 8 – Bouquet

I just now realized that the blocks are in alphabetical and numerical order. At least the way I’m doing them. Who knew?

  1. Not me, I’ve been doing them haphazard all over the place. Maybe I should go back and fill in my numberical and alphabetical gaps before I move forward :) Your blocks are looking lovely

  2. Great blocks!! I think I’m the only person in blogland not doing the quilt along but I’m really enjoying seeing everyone’s interpretations! I really like that grey background spot fabric in the first photo.

  3. You’re not the only one Rachael! I’m standing on the sidelines, too. These blocks are wonderful additions to your others, Amy!! Love your fabric choices.

Very nice! I am waiting (not so patiently) for the book to arrive so I can join the fun. Thanks for sharing your beautiful blocks!

These are so lovely! You wouldn’t care to link them up at today’s BOMs AWAY “party”, would you? (even though they’re not strictly a BOM) here’s the link if you want to: http://whatahootquilts.blogspot.com/2011/06/boms-away-7.html

  6. Cute! I love that grey fabric you’ve used in your bowtie…

They are so lovely Amy – the birds in the air is so precise – all those wee half square triangles. But I think I love the bouquet best of all – I love how the centre of the flower is pieced – having the diagonal line run through it is really delicate. Very inspiring – hope you are having a lovely warm summer :-)

Oh yes…..swooning over your perfect little blocks!! You go girl!!

  11. I really like the way everyone has kind of a different method as to the order they are doing the blocks. I’m following along with the letters so I’m jumping all over the place! Your fabric choices are great!

Nice work on your blocks. Your points match up great. My next quilt will be block nine with Japanese fabrics and a black background. Each fabric will be repeated twice. Can’t wait to get started on it.

Would you share your foundation paper piecing template used in Against Traffic? I love your clarity.
