It’s like I never left

We’ve been home from the whirlwind Philadelphia trip for almost a week now. While we were gone, it felt like we’d be there a long time. After we got home, it felt like the time passed in the blink of an eye (oh, no pun intended). I think I’m still trying to get back in the swing of the routine. I guess if I had a day that IS the routine, that would help me get back into the routine.

I was able to re-acquaint myself with the sewing machine briefly yesterday:

That would be a doll quilt swap sneakity peek.

I feel way behind on everything to the point that I’m not sure what to do first. Don’t you hate that feeling? Of course, my instinct is to just start a new project instead of revisiting the old things (bad, bad). But, how can I help myself? I got this new book called Livin’ Large by Heather Mulder Peterson (Anka’s Treasures):

Oh my gosh, I really like everything in this book! Check out the quilt on the back cover:

I believe I saw this in a photo of Free Spirit’s booth at quilt market. So pretty!

And I think I have given up trying to catch up on blog posts that I missed. While endlessly entertaining and informative, I think I’d better give it up and move on.

I’m very excited about watching election returns this evening. Truly, for me it’s the spectacle and “togetherness” and the fact that we don’t have to watch any more political ads for a while that I’m excited about. Or maybe I have officially had too much coffee (thanks for the freebie, Starbucks) and need to calm down.

Or maybe I’m just excited about making (and eating) some edamame dip (the dip of election parties?). That could be it.

I do know I will be watching Fred Armisen and the Megapixel Giant Touch Map and Oscar Rogers (FIX IT!) (warning: check your volume, link is to Hulu video because my tech specialist isn’t here to help me figure out how to embed video) at least one more time in anticipation of the results.

Well, the dryer has buzzed for the third time, so I’d better go address that minor household chore.

Cheers, everyone!

I saw that book, and I want it too! It looks great.

I too will be glad to have this election over with – just so I don’t have to listen to any more politcal ads.

That dip looks great! Have you tried it before? And it’s from Alton Brown – I just can’t get enough of his shows.

I LOVE that doll quilt – I think I will have to get me that pattern! And I love your fabrics – I have some of those too. I adore watching election returns (my father was a politician – I can’t help myself) – and have spent the day with Carolann watching the results on CNN – it was AWESOME! (and I loved their fancy graphics and amazing software – cool!) What a day hey! šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

Somehow I was only getting your October posts. I think I fixed it. So now I’m catching up with you. I saw that book on her blog and LOVE everything. And your little dress quilt is so dang cute.
